Accomplishments

Alert Pinellas

Free emergency notification system sends alerts via text, phone and emails.

  • In 2025, 114 notifications were sent through Alert Pinellas for severe weather, tornadoes, water service outages and more.
  • Over 123,750 are signed up for this free service, as of August 2026.

Students Prepare

A contest challenged middle school students to create posters on hurricane risks and safety actions.

Other activities included:

  • Youth Ambassadors from high schools presented emergency safety information to middle school classes.
  • More than 27,000 copies of the 2026 Hurricane Guide were delivered to public and charter middle schools through the Newspapers in Education program.

Whole Community

Partnerships throughout the county help connect with the whole community.

  • 215 people attended Deaf Day in 2025, with 27 community partners involved.
  • Pinellas County Emergency Management shared preparedness information with over 22,000 individuals at nearly 200 events in 2025.
  • Individuals who are blind or with low vision participate in preparedness activities in partnership with service providers.
